Subject: Free workshop on data curation for rehabilitation research
Dear Dr. Brown,
My name is Stephanie Carpenter and I work with the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research.
I'm reaching out to see if it's possible to share an announcement about a free data workshop--"Data Curation for Rehabilitation Research and Related Clinical Trials"--with interested individuals. This workshop is for individuals interested
or actively engaged in preparing data, including clinical trial data, for sharing and reuse among those involved in rehabilitation and disability outcomes research.
I've included the announcement below. If there is someone else that I should contact, please let me know.
Many thanks for your time and consideration.
Best wishes,
Stephanie

Data Curation for Rehabilitation Research and Related Clinical Trials
June 12-13, 2018 at Colorado State University, Fort Collins
This free workshop is for any individual interested or actively engaged in preparing data, including clinical trial data, for sharing and
reuse among those involved in rehabilitation and disability outcomes research. Data curation includes the steps taken to ensure that research data can be used by secondary users long into the future. Increasingly, federal agencies are asking researchers and
projects they fund to ensure the data produced are accessible to others. Workshop participants will learn how to plan, review, clean, document, and disseminate data, including clinical trial data and data containing disclosure risks.
Admitted workshop participants may request to be considered for a stipend to help with travel and housing costs.
Learn more about
the workshop and apply to participate through the ICPSR Summer Program. Applications are due April 23, 2018.
Sponsored by the Archive of Data on Disability to Enable Policy and Research, with support from the Center for Large Data Research and Data
Sharing in Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Research Resource to Enhance Clinical Trials, Medical Rehabilitation Research Resource Network, and the Department of Occupational Therapy - Colorado State University.
