Medical Director for the CCTS Clinical Research Unit

 

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is searching for the next Medical Director of its Clinical Research Unit (CRU). The successful candidate will be a physician scientist with extensive experience in clinical research. The CRU Medical Director reports to the CCTS Director and will be charged with overseeing the conduct of clinical research activities supported by the unit, ensuring participant safety, adherence to good clinical practice and alignment with institutional policies and procedures of the University and UAB Medicine.  The Medical Director will work closely with the CRU Nurse Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the unit, including the use of Cerner, OnCore, REDCap and other digital systems to document activities. The successful candidate will also be available to consult with principal investigators to implement effective and ethical studies and will play a significant role in the evaluation and continuous improvement of workflows to support further growth, capacity and integration for streamlined clinical research conduct. Preference will be given to applicants from UAB faculty with clinical credentials and those with human subjects research experience with the CRU, including clinical trials.
