Inclusive Research in Health and Wellness in Adults or Children with Disabilities

Purpose and Objectives

The UAB Center for Engagement in Disability Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (CEDHARS) invites applications for pilot feasibility studies to support new inclusive research initiatives in promoting the health and well-being of adults and children with disabilities. The requirement in this application is to identify a UAB researcher doing research in a related area of health and wellness who has external funding, and to work collaboratively with this person to add an additional cohort of people with disabilities to this existing study. The concept of Inclusion Science is not to reinvent the wheel, but rather, to adapt it using an evidence-informed process that supports systematic adaptation of health and wellness programs.

Priority Areas

Priority will be given to research projects that seek to improve the health and well-being of people with disabilities. Sample projects may include adapting a health/wellness intervention in the one of the following areas:

Award and Application Information

As many as four proposals may be funded at up to $50,000 each. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
